Quick Thoughts on Queen Elizabeth’s Passing

We just heard the news while vacationing in Austria.

As you may know, I’m an American living in the UK, who is not a British citizen (though that’s an ambition). I was born just a couple of years before Princess Elizabeth became Queen Elizabeth II. So she was “the Queen” all my life, even if she wasn’t my monarch. And no other queen could answer to the title. I am saddened by her passing, and as I heard the news before my British Bride, to me it fell the task of telling her. It was not easy to do without choking up. May Her Majesty be greeted on the other side with the words, “Well done, thou good and faithful servant!”

They may not read this, but my condolences go out to her family and all who loved her.

And finally: God save the King!
